Amberlie Jane is a dedicated Senior Events Officer with over a decade of experience in the humanitarian and events sectors. With a strong background in managing complex logistics and fostering meaningful connections, Amberlie is passionate about creating safe spaces for challenging conversations that inspire change within the humanitarian sector.
Amberlie leads the coordination of CHL’s biennial Humanitarian Leadership Conference, along with various other events, including webinars, panel discussions, and international engagements. Her role blends her unique expertise in event management and humanitarian logistics, and she strives to amplify voices and facilitate environments where new ideas can emerge.
Amberlie’s journey in the humanitarian field is deeply rooted in her extensive volunteer and professional experience. From her early days as a logistics volunteer with Oxfam’s Events Team to volunteering with the Red Cross during the Black Summer bushfires—where she was awarded the National Emergency Medal for her service—to her significant contributions working with Oxfam Australia, Amberlie has consistently demonstrated her commitment to supporting others in times of crisis. At Oxfam, she went on to manage logistics and volunteer coordination for major fundraising events and later worked on grant management for humanitarian crisis globally and disaster preparedness projects across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
Her educational background includes a double Bachelor’s degree in Communications (Public Relations) and Sociology from Deakin University and she has undergone training in humanitarian practice, emergency management, and incident management.
Growing up in Gippsland on Gunaikurnai Land, Amberlie has always felt at home in the mountains, a place that continues to inspire her work in creating spaces for connection and reflection. Her role at the Centre is not just about coordinating events; it’s about aligning her passion for social change with her extensive experience to create impactful and memorable experiences that resonate on a global scale.
