Perla Escalon is professional with a comprehensive background in crisis leadership, mental health support, and program coordination. Currently serving as the Francophone Programs Coordinator, Perla brings her expertise to a role that underscores her dedication to effective program management. In this role, Perla is accountable for ensuring the operations of both the Diplôme d’Études Supérieures en Leadership Humanitaire (DESLH) and the Programme de Leadership en situations de Crise (Seed, Grow, and Extend).
Her career trajectory includes impactful roles at corporate organisations such as the Commonwealth Bank, Beyond Blue and International SOS where she showcased her ability to provide innovative solutions for vulnerable individuals facing diverse challenges.
Perla was born in Guatemala and grew up in Paris. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences and Humanities at Université Paris Cité followed by a Master’s degree from Sciences Po Grenoble, specialized in Latin American Affairs.
At the end of her studies, Perla made a significant move to Australia, where she has since contributed her skills and expertise to various organisations. Beyond her academic achievements, her career is marked by a deep values of social impact and mental health advocacy.
