Jessica is a global communications specialist with 13 years of experience delivering communications projects and events for the international development and humanitarian sectors. She has a broad range of management experience working for academic institutions, NGOs and the private sector in Australia, the UK and Asia and the Pacific. Jessica specialises in managing digital communications, events and conferences, and producing publications and impactful communications campaigns for social development causes.

Jessica joined the Centre in 2020 as Online Communications Officer, with a focus on growing digital communities and managing online promotions and engagement for the 2021 Humanitarian Leadership Conference. Now working as the Centre’s Senior Communications Advisor, Jessica works closely with staff and partners to promote research, events and education opportunities to target audiences and to grow the Centre’s global reach.

Jessica has extensive experience in working with development sector academia to deliver effective communications strategies for research and development projects with a focus on gender and humanitarian leadership. Prior to joining the Centre, she worked with the ODI in London, UK, helping the launch the branding and communications strategies for two new multi-year social development research programmes: Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence and ALIGN. Jessica has also managed communications and public diplomacy for the Australian Government’s Australian Volunteers for International Development and New Colombo Scholarships programs while working at Scope Global (now Palladium).

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of International Studies from UniSA and has completed training in project management and leadership.
